Ms. Dilruba Haider has long experience of working as an Assistant Resident Representative & Team Leader of Disaster Management and Crisis Prevention Team, UNDP Bangladesh and Disaster Program Manager, Department for International Development (DFID). Ms. Haider is highly professional in maintaining liaison with donors and resource mobilization; ensuring coordination with all: Government, donors, NGOs; ensuring monitoring and reporting requirements of programs are fulfilled; managing knowledge network of disaster risk reduction professionals in country. She has the experience of supporting the Ministry of Food and Disaster Management, at the highest level (the Minister, and the Secretary) with advisory inputs on risk reduction (e.g. incorporated the issue of disaster risk reduction in IPRSP) and handled missions at time of crisis. She is also renowned for her media related activities, e.g., design and present talk shows in Televisions on various social issues, News caster of the national English bulletins in Bangladesh Television (BTV). Video production on various social and environmental issues; producing talk shows, dramas, documentaries, produced two documentaries on SIDR, the super cyclone: Phoenix: Surviving SIDR and Coordination of SIDR Response (shown in television channels on 15 January 2008).
