Kumarkhali Village is located at the edge of Ward-8, Khaulia Union also bordering with adjacent Soronkhola Upazila. Hafez A. Malek is an Imam of a local mosque, and his family lives in Kumarkhali for generations.  Besides his regular work as an Imam, Mr. Malek do chicken farming at his home for additional earning. As a member of WDMC, he has attended at different training, workshop and coordination meetings organized by BDPC, where he learnt about the Right to Information Act 2009.{/hits}

At the Experience Sharing Meeting, held at the Upazila Meeting room, Hafez Md. Malek shared his story on how he suffered to acquire services from Upazila Livestock Department. Since home-based chicken farming is one of his important earning sources, he tries to be attentive as much as possible to protect those from seasonal epidemic diseases and regularly collect vaccine from concerned department. In last December, he went to livestock office to collect ‘chicken pox’ vaccine from the assigned officer, but he was refused and said that there is no more in stock. Then the service huntsman, Mr. Malek asked for a written proclamation including possible date when he can come over again to take yearning vaccine, but he was again rebuffed to do so. Consequently, seeker whispered while he was leaving with annoyance ‘I should have complain to UNO and ask for the solution’. Right away, officer asked fifty taka for one vaccine whilst the definite price is only twenty taka. Mr. Imam rejected his proposal and remained sticky not to pay extra. Service giver got nothing to do except giving away vaccine for free of charge.

Huntsman whispered again in the experience sharing meeting, in front of all participants and as well as Vice-Chairman that “we, the service seeker, need to raise our voice and be stringent rightly at right time to claim of our rights”.
